“We took our wedding photos at Lake Pukaki in October 2021. Because the weather that day was terrible and we couldn’t capture the starry sky, Dandy took us to several more locations just to ensure we wouldn’t be disappointed. I initially thought that wedding photos on a rainy day would not look good, but with Dandy’s incredible skills, I was extremely satisfied with the final results! “We chose to shoot our wedding photos over two days in New Zealand’s South Island in September 2022. At that time, the pandemic had not completely ended, and tourism in many countries had not fully recovered. Before our departure, my husband and I hesitated for a long time, but we didn’t give up on the idea and decided to go to New Zealand for this once-in-a-lifetime wedding photo journey in the South Island.

We decided beforehand that we didn’t want the shooting style to focus on buildings; we wanted the magnificent landscapes of nature to take center stage. So, we did a lot of research and looked for several local wedding photography companies in New Zealand. I found Dandy’s work on his website and Instagram, and it perfectly matched the vibe we wanted for our photos. We didn’t take too long to decide and quickly confirmed the date and shooting locations with him. We chose a two-day wedding shoot featuring the unique landscapes of the South Island. Once the date and locations were set, we discussed the details of the wedding dress shoot. I found that the dresses available abroad were more minimalist and not in line with the style I wanted.”

“I was torn for a long time about our honeymoon in New Zealand, but I’m so glad I found Dandy for the shoot just before we left. Otherwise, I would have regretted not having good photos in such a beautiful place!

Since it was our first time taking wedding photos, I wasn’t very experienced with choosing the dress, poses, and expressions. But Dandy and his whole team were incredibly patient and thoughtful throughout the process, guiding us while we ran around in the freezing weather ❤️.

At first, I felt a bit awkward during the shoot, but Dandy helped us relax, and by the time we got to Mount Cook, it was hailing 😂. The ice was getting stuck in my hair, and I was so cold that my true self showed through XD. Dandy was also great at capturing those wonderful moments!

It’s a pity we scheduled the wedding dress shoot so late; otherwise, there were so many more places I wanted to capture! Every finished photo turned out beautifully—I barely needed any retouching, and I faced all sorts of selection anxiety when choosing album photos!

In short, working with Dandy’s team for wedding photos was more than just a photo shoot; it created wonderful memories during our journey in New Zealand. Even after more than a year, I still often look back at the photos! If any of you couples have decided to go to New Zealand, definitely ask Dandy to help with your wedding photos!
